The Lives We Impact

Although our club is fairly new and still small (less than 20 members), we have great ideas we plan to implement to help the youth on the East side of Charlotte. We feel they deserve activities and educational events to help keep them engaged and out of trouble.

Carolina Cardinals wants to be able to give small monetary prizes (scholarships) for our local essay and oratorical contests. These events are held annually with the local club winners competing to move to the District competition to be eligible to win $2,500.00 in scholarship money.

The Club held its first Back to School program this year, giving out free shoes, t-shirts and backpacks with school supplies. Over 500 people passed through the doors. See the September newsletter for photos.

We plan to start a volleyball club and a bowling club so they will have things they can do indoors when the weather won’t permit tennis or golf.

Education is very important to us also. We partner with Briarwood Academy to help with their after-school tutoring program. You can see some of the things we do along with them at their website. http://:www.briarwoodptsa.com
